Runner Events:

Marc's Push for Franklin Park! Saturday, March 8; James' Gate; $20 advance, $25 at the door; Ticket includes tasty snacks, one raffle ticket, and a hug from the big man himself. (kidding about the last part...unless its important to you...); Raffle tickets for sale, with prizes from your favorite JP businesses, $2 each or 3 for $5.

March Madness Virtual 5K: Sunday, March 9; Support Derly and take a break from March Madness! You can run/walk this Virtual 5K anywhere  Medals to all participants! Cornhole for the Coalition: Sunday, March 9, 1:00 p.m.; Margaret & Lori are running the Boston Marathon for the Franklin Park Coalition. Come support the cause with an awesome Cornhole Tournament at Boston's iconic Baseball Tavern.

Franklin Park Turkey Trot: Run or walk the beautiful paths of “jewel” of the Emerald Necklace to start your Thanksgiving Day!  The scenic 3.1 mile route includes the most beautiful and historic views of Franklin Park. You can work off your Thanksgiving calories before you sit down at the table! 9:00 a.m. start, $25.00 pre-registration fee;  http://www.franklinparkcoalition.org/turkey-trot-5k/

Third Annual Giggles Comedy Night at Prince Pizzeria: February 16, 2014; Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; All-you-can-eat pizza and great comedians! $20.00 in advance and tickets are available through the runners (Julie, Jason, Shari, Rich, and Mike) or by emailing julie@franklinaparkcoalition.org

Private Sam Adams Brewery Tour: February 17, 2014; 3:30; Join Jeanette and other Franklin Park supporters for special tour of the Sam Adams Brewery in JP. A $10-20 donation is suggested and will include the tour and tasting afterwards. RSVP are required to njresq at gmail.com.

Science Festival: Thursday, Feb. 20 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm; Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse; 
Mayor Martin J. Walsh & the Boston Parks Department invite families and children to a free and fun science festival during school vacation week.Indoor and outdoor activities.

Franklin Park: A “Quiet Season” Jaunt  The beginning of spring is typically a quiet time at Franklin Park.  The leaves, the songbirds, the golfers, the festival-goers are still weeks away…Free, but registration required

Spring Planting & Volunteer Day: Saturday, Apr. 26 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Franklin Park, Valley Gates Parking Lot; Come help plant young trees and clear invasives in the 200-acres of woodlands in Franklin Park, a forest oasis in the heart of the city. Wear old clothes, bring work gloves.

Kite & Bike Festival: Saturday, May. 17 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm; Playstead ballfields between the Zoo and the Stadium; Come fly a kite! Come ride a bike! Fourth annual revival of the historic family and community Kite Festival in Franklin Park. Kites will be on sale.

National Trails Day: Saturday, Jun. 7 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm; Franklin Park, Valley Gates Parking Lot; Come volunteer! Restore trails and clear invasives in the 200-acres of woodlands in Franklin Park, a forest oasis in the heart of the city. Wear old clothes, bring work gloves…
